Most of these are oil on canvas. I have variously experimented with block colour
as I really like the work of Roualt and the colour of stained glass windows.
I also do a more frenzied expressive approach occasionally, a reflection of the
mad weather conditions that we experience on the Mull of Kintyre. The black
and white one is acrylic and chalk, another technique I enjoy. The "watercolour"
looking one is acrylic wash built up on
oil pastel resist. I like the mix of drawing
and painting - the contrast of textures
and washes is effective in communicating
the variety of landscape & weather here.
